Brazil – Iran’s Agriculture Minister, Gholamreza Nouri, and his Indian counterpart, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouha, called for the development of bilateral relations between the two nations, especially in the fields of food, agriculture and trade.

The two ministers met on the sidelines of the BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting in Brasília on Thursday.

During the meeting in the Brazilian capital, Nouri emphasized the need to revitalize the Iran-India Joint Agricultural Committee, calling for enhanced collaboration in biotechnology, joint research initiatives, and updated trade protocols.

He further highlighted the historical trade ties between the two nations and stressed the importance of expanding partnerships in agriculture and food production.

India’s Agriculture Minister, for his turn, affirmed his country’s readiness to boost both bilateral and multilateral agricultural cooperation within the BRICS framework.

Chouhan reiterated India’s commitment to strengthening agricultural ties with Iran in all sectors.
